Bass Fishing
Kenora -
Nothing
is more exciting to us than tangling with the smallmouth bass. Using
light tackle consisting of 6 to 8 lb mono, spinning or casting reel,
medium action rod and an assortment of lures such as top water baits,
spinners, and other plugs having a fighting bass on the other end can
be a challange to any seasoned angler.
Now we all know that the human
species is the most intelligent being on the planet, but "think"
of it - here we have a fish, averaging may 2 to 5 lbs. that is jumping,
sailing out of the water, tangling your line around under water obstacles
etc. while you know "darn well" you have set the hooks right
and they spit the lure right back at you. NOW who's the smartest what?
Smallmouth bass is no doubt one
of the more popular species people angle for here on Lake of the Woods
primarily for their fighting ability.
During the month of August Kenora
hosts the Kenora Bass International and World Class Bass Tournament,
that attracts both Professional and novice anglers alike from across
Canada and the United States to complete for extremely High Dollar Cash
Prices and of course the Bragging Rights that they won the best tourney
in Ontario if not Canada.
